Identifying key issues and impacts: Early Technology Validation
The first three key objectives are more oriented at the fundamental questions, such as what is the ideal process, and how will such a system look like. To identify possibly overlooked real-world problems we will test the technology in the second half of the project under real world conditions. This is important because it helps identify possibly overlooked issues. The objective is thus not to demonstrate but to explore. This real world application can also lead to a better appreciation of real world problems. Also attention needs to be paid to non-technological issues such as economic and environmental costs and benefits. These will be addressed at a more global level to give context to the first three objectives.
